The Vision
Our
Vision is to be the standard against which all costume
jewelry design companies are measured. To demonstrate
that Myka Designs is an innovative business enterprise,
a leader in Canadian Design and a responsible and caring
employer. Our commitment is to share the unique Myka
image, skill and craftsmanship, both nationally and
internationally.
The Story
Drawn
together during their Bachelor of Applied Arts Degree
studies at Toronto’s Ryerson Polytechnical Institute,
Maja Ilic and Michael Bremer recognized their common
appreciation for innovative design and natural business
talents as a recipe for success. Combining Michael’s
passion for quality workmanship and Maja’s love
of design, the couple’s dream became a reality
with the debut of the Myka Designs collection in the
Spring of 1991.
In
1996 Maja and Michael moved their business ‘home’
to the west coast of Canada. Today, ‘Myka’
is proudly designed and produced at the Myka Designs
Inc. head office and production studio in beautiful
Vancouver, Canada. Collection after collection, the
pair faithfully envision, draft and sculpt each piece
of jewelry from concept to finished product. Michael’s
ability to sensitively interpret Maja’s imaginative
designs has created a following and demand amongst its
many loyal customers.
Coveted
for its superior design and meticulous workmanship,
each piece of jewelry is hand made out of pewter to
ensure the quality synonymous with the Myka Designs
label. ‘Swarovski’ crystals, semi-precious
stones and a breathtaking variety of glass and crystal
beads enhance each signature piece. Now, a devoted clientele
– hungry for originality and appreciative of their
quality craftsmanship - anxiously await each new debut.
The
Myka Designs Collection is available at specialty boutiques,
gift stores, galleries and better department stores
across Canada and the United States.
The Designers
As
the creative visionaries behind the Myka Designs label,
the professional craftsmanship and personal partnership
in Maja Ilic and Michael Bremer continues to grow. Energized
by the breathtaking beauty of Canada’s west coast
this couple continues to plan and create jewelry, which
is a reflection of their world – cosmopolitan,
unique and beautiful.
For
the woman who wears her accessories as an expression
of her individuality, Maja and Michael are ready to
share Myka Designs with the world.
